HP Mini 2133 problems after installing updates.

Hello all - New to the forum.

I have an HP Mini 2133 running 10.04 everything was working great till this morning.

No Sound.

I have never seen the speaker icon look like this... Everything in the mixer is turned up all the way, the hotkeys still change the "volume" but not a peep comes out of this bugger.

Also, another annoying problem.

If i unplug my netbook from power the system states that there is only 2 mins of battery life left and needs to suspend/shutdown etc.

Problem is that the battery is full (the panel icon even indicates that the batter is 100%

Any advice would be appreciated

Forgot to mention that the computer will not shutdown either.

I tried restarting to fix the sound issue a few times, and then again leaving home / work.

I select "shutdown" from the panel, hit the power button... Nothing works. I need to hold the power button to turn it off now...

Some reasons to hate "updates"...

Update: fired the HP up tonight. Sound works again, and I do not know why. I would still like to know what that icon status indicates. I have yet to test the other issues.

Another (frustrating) update. The sound work(ed) shutdown(worked). Now I am back to step one. No sound. No shutdown. wtf.

update to 10.10 seems to be working alright. thanks for the help. :confused:
