Can anyone help me on configuring/enabling the fingerprint log-on feature in ubuntu 10.04 64 bit version on hp dv6 notebook. i tried the think finger tool to configure it but i couldn't do that as it fails to detect the scanning device.

Thanks.

I have the same fingerprint reader. Actually a Validity device. I have had no luck in finding software/drivers to make this work in GNU\Linux.

There were still no drivers when I looked for them in August. I don't think this device will ever be supported in Linux.
