It's really difficult to find anything that can help you produce a decent blog without the help of Windows or Mac OSX. Windows Live Writer alone is considered the most comprehensive and useful blogging tool. It comes with a price, however, it's Windows only.
In my most recent article I've shared what software I've used to enable a solid transition from blogging and video editing in Windows to doing it in Maverick Meerkat instead. In the beginning I didn't even know where to start but after three weeks of digging I found the tools that I needed.
