3g mobile

Hi
I have installed 10.10 ,it installed correctly.
MY 3G USB DONGLE IS NOT DETECTED.why not always a problem with ubuntu.
Please help

ok i dont know if it's relevant, but my at&t air card that's suposed to have 3g wont get it at all and it's had 3g before now so idk. i just noticed it a few minutes ago.
