View Full Version : [ubuntu] Keep desktop background from scaling behind panels

I've Googled a fair bit and come up short, so my apologies if this has been answered somewhere.

It seems like every background I enjoy has content all the way to the edges of the image. However, all of the scaling options end up hiding this behind the panels. As I'm really not a fan of Auto-Hide, and would prefer to avoid loading up GIMP to manually fix every background I find, I was hoping there might be some way to restrict the available background space - taking the size and position of any panels into account when scaling and centering the image, for example, or anything to that effect.

I vaguely remember finding something for XP that did this, though I'll be damned if I can remember the name.

Suggestions?
