I have a laptop with Intel GMA 4500M graphic card, i had not any problem with ubuntu 10.4 and earlier,
visual effects is active but the Additional Drivers is empty

Thanks in advance!

On GMA4500 it is not a driver issue. I had a similar issue, which somehow got resolved, even thought i am not sure how. Make sure everything is completely updated, then reboot after you make the updates. Then you can install CCSM (compiz config settings manager) and try to turn off some of the effects or workarounds.
