The website says you can use Boxee and there is a Vudu app available with Boxee... Anybody tried this to see if it will stream with 'nix?

Vudu is *not* available on Linux. I can't really imagine the logic behind this decision, but currently Vudu is only part of Boxee on Windows, Mac and Boxee Box. See announcement here: http://blog.boxee.tv/2010/10/28/vudus-hd-on-demand-movie-service-arrives-on-boxee/

It's not a Netflix alternative, either. You pay for each thing you watch. A newer movie in Blu ray quality averages about $5.99 for one movie for 24 hours. For $7.99, Netflix gives you unlimited streaming to everything they have available for a month.

That's not to say Vudu isn't awesome, though. My blu ray player has an app for it, and we got a $10 credit. We watched The Green Zone in blu ray quality, and I was amazed. I can't believe they can stream that kind of quality without any hiccups, and it didn't even have to buffer.

True enough but for that $7.99 a month from Netflix you also are not getting first runs from that service either.... No real biggie for me, I can stream in other ways as can everybody else...
