Right now, KDE programs look like really bad. This is not a reduced color depth image, this is what I'm getting, with strange black lines around the buttons.
How do I fix this?

I have only installed that particular KDE application, I have not installed KDE itself.

If you are wanting to rename multiple files Gnome Commander fills the bill. It is in Synaptic.

I also finished testing KRename, and it is broken at recursively renaming files and directories. It fails when it renames a directory, then tries to rename the files inside. Many renamers have that problem. I already reported the similar bug in pyrenamer, and I think that bug was fixed there. Time to send in a bug report for KRename...

To change the look of a KDE application in ubuntu-gnome desktop, you can install Systemsettings through synaptic.

After installation, it is located under system --> preferences --> systemsettings, you run it, and you can change the appearence of the KDE app as you want.
