View Full Version : [ubuntu] Still Installing Java

Been through the gammit on this one...installed java v6 and the plugin from synaptic enabled everything except cd rom and installed the icedtea plugin for firefox and still can't initialize the java applet for a game at pogo.com. Normally I wouldn't care but a friend is trying 10.10 and this is the one thing keeping her from migrating from windows...

Oh and I manually configured java6 in terminal to point to that version.
Is there still something I'm missing here?

This site pogo.com must be very popular since you are not the only one posting about it here at the forums. Have you tried searching the forums?
Here are some threads you should look at:

Hi Lykeion
The second link worked for me where it talks about removing the 'icedtea6 plugin'

I actually did a search and found the first link and others but none of their recommendations worked...

Thankyou...Greatly appreciated!
