Hello Forum,

Recently i have had success in using distant Ubuntu Linux box's (remote computers)
from Amazon.com

However, one feature that is missing in the Ubuntu box does not have any SOUND.

Is it possible that because the Ubuntu is a "server originated version" of an office type operating system.....that SOUND is simply not supported?

The desktop appears to show that there isn't any soundcards....or hardware to play sound.

These are Amazon (remote Ubuntu Linux box.) canonical. All things point to the fact that this SHOULD all work right out of the box.

In summeray, the Local desktop has Alsa...and Pulse audio installed but there is no indication that any hardware is present (sound cards)

Multimedia is enabled in the remote connection.

Eerything else about the Linux ubuntu box looks totally standard and operational.

How best do you advise me to go about getting SOUND working?

thankyou

Vince.
