Hello there, recently I've followed this steps:

Its shows how to have KDE plasma workspace but not running KDE fully. Note that the steps are for karmic but I made a few adjustments so that I'm able to do it in Maverick too:

After doing all the steps, I'm starting to question myself,
"How is this possible?"
"How is it that I"m NOT login to KDE but still manage to run the Plasma workspace?"
"How come my when I run my system monitor, it seems to look like its mostly running KDE but somehow my network manager and my screensaver is still in Gnome?"
"Why is it that in Compiz Fusion Icon whenever I set Kwin as my window manager, it fails to load the KDE desktop effect on startup unless I manually start it?"
"Why is it that I can't select KDE4 as my window decorator in Compiz Fusion Icon?"
"Why is it I can't log out from my session from the KDE panel?"
Now then, it isn't like I really want solution to these questions, but I want to understand why and how these things happens. I know there is Google to help me gain better insight on these, but I still want to hear what you all,the expert, have to say about this matter.
