Please vote for a proper icon grid on the desktop

I will admit that after I installed 10.10 and saved a few things to the Desktop, I saw the icons in their usual uneven spacing and thought, "they still haven't fixed this?". :P

Sorry, but I prefer the ability to freely resize icons individually, and automatically arranging them based on each individual icon's size instead of a fixed grid placement... ;)

Changing to fixed grid would make one thing better and couple of others worse.

I do think that the icon placement does have it's problems, but not with how they are arranged but with the fact that newly created files aren't arranged automatically all the time and instead may end overlapping existing icons.

I personally have never wanted to change the size of a single icon. I prefer them to have all the same size. If I want to resize, then all of them
