I have been a Mac user since 1988. I use Quicktime on the Mac to edit my videos. What I like about it and what I am looking for is an app whre you can put a marker at the beginning of the movie, one at the end and than save the clip in a specific format like .mov or .avi. Right now all I found was Avidemux. I tried it out but was wondering if there is anything out there that is similar to what I am trying to achieve.

When I look for video editors I get editors that allow you to edit movies along with soundtrack etc... This is not what I want. I just want something simple that hopefully can also do fade in from black and fade to black.

Have you tried PiTiVi?

EDIT: It doesn't seem to have a Mac port...

There's PiTiVi, Kino, and Openshot.

Ya I know about those but those are more for people with video that they want to import from a camcorder to create edit movies with. I think that is overkill for what I want.
