netbook window jumps

I have two netbooks that I installed 10.04 on and I think Compiz is giving me some grief. With Compiz maximized (for example), if I scroll down and hit 'Close', the top bar jumps into view with no other actions..and when I'd click on the 'close' button, the display jumps to the bottom of the page again without closing...is there something to this jumping that's unique to netbooks with Compiz? I appreciate your time and help (!)

I bet the answer to this thing could very well be here on the Ubuntu Forums but I managed to come across it on another forum posted three years ago by someone named Cerebus. Compiz Settings > General > Focus & Raise tab > uncheck 'raise on click'.
