View Full Version : Quick ? How to install GNOME in Fedora
November 12th, 2010, 05:57 AM
I have a friend that wants to try GNOME in Fedora 14. I was thinking it would be: "su yum install gnome2". i know this isn't an Ubuntu question, but I know that there are a lot of distro hoppers. This will also be handy as I'm thinking of putting Fedora on my secondary box. thanks for any help!

Fedora is gnome based, what is it you are actually trying to install? Gnome-shell? Gnome 3?

This guy installed Fedora KDE version. I was looking how to install the classic GNOME2 DE. I'm sure it's about the same as in Ubuntu, but uses "yum" instead of apt-get. As I pretty much always use GNOME, I have never had to install it. :)
