I have a question. I just got a new Sony laptop running the I7 Q740m Quadcore with 4m ram w/ WIN 7 Home

I want to run Ubuntu in a Virtual machine. I am wondering if Virtual box is a good choice, or what other VM I should use?
Also which version of Ubuntu, 10.10 64bit or 32bit?
Would an older OS be more stable?

If anyone has had any experience with these, and or recommendations I would love to hear them.

I use Virtualbox all the time, and I love it. Keep in mind that it has limits just like vmware, xen, etc. and you will have issues if you try playing games, etc.

To answer your other question...go with 64 bit....have fun, and let us know if you have any issues or questions.

Thank you for you advice. I will Download the 64bit ISO tonight and set everything up tomorrow. I will let you know how it all works out.

I won't play games on it. Just like Ubuntu for surfing and e-mail.
