For record: I've upgraded since Breezy on this PC and even switched HD when I upgraded my desktop last year. I have 2 HD, one for / and the other for /home. This one even survived the Karmic upgrade. Using Nvidia drivers from ppa.
When I attempt to change shells [gnome-shell or unity] command line or Netbook edition for unity everything freezes and I get an unmovable mouse cursor with the desktop background or login backgound. I am forced to go to other tty prompt and kill off gdm or reboot to get it running again.
Any thoughts?
