On UBUNTU 8.10 64 bits

Using apt-get to install proftpd, i've got issues, getting somes packages, even with an apt-get update :

Err http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
404 Not Found
W: Impossible de récupérer http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found

Indeed, directory "intrepid" doesn't exist into archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists

As i've not installed anything since july, did i miss something ?

Hello there.

I would suggest a large part of the problem is that interpid reached its end of life a while ago and the repos will have been shutdown.

This happend in APril 2010 so Im surprised you havent hit trouble yet.

You could try searching for backports of the packages you want but you may be better just upgrading.
