I keep searching high and low for a CMS specialised in simple sorting. Blog, news, whatever - it's only one poster and only one blog or, if you preffer, news stream. The comments are useless as disqus is doing a fine job so far, although I have nothing against a good comment management system (also hard to find). It would be nice to have some webpage optimisation instead of just dumping everything from the theme.

Anyway, the most important part to me is the message/post/news queue. It has to be quite well done and not just a silly scheduler/cron job. It has to be able to post at a certain time of the day the next post in queue and it should do the sorting well. At the time I was fine with the tumblr queue, only that at any change the whole queue was published. And it happened so many times I'd rather use a scheduler like the one in blogger than do anything with tumblr.

Have you considered Wordpress? I'm not totally sure about the queue support, but I know that the blog software itself (from Wordpress.org) is Free Software, and is VERY extendable. Perhaps someone has written an extension for it?

I seem to recall that it has that kind of feature built in, where you have it post articles at a specific time rather than right away.

Wordpress allows you to choose the time to publish an article.

There may also be a plugin you can use to do the queue like you want. Or you could hire a wordpress developer to create it.

Perhaps this WP plugin will do what you need: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/time-release/

Edit: Also: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bump-the-schedule/
