I just finished reading the Mad Pennguin (http://madpenguin.org/cms/index.php/?m=show&id=6699&page=1) review by Adam Doxtater and I find the following excerpt to be pretty distrurbing.
"It was a positive review and I sent a short email to the Ubuntu staff to let them know the article was up. This is common of me. Most of the times I review something, I'll send a courtesy email to the developers to give them a heads up. Ubuntu sent a reply (a canned reply from what it looked like) saying “thanks for the email. If you'd like to help the Ubuntu project, please tell all your friends about us and don't forget to donate money”. What??? They had to be joking right? I just praised them in a review that would reach hundreds of thousands of readers and all they could say was “spread the word and give us money”? Didn't I just spread the word? This was my tip off that Ubuntu doesn't really give a ****. That's fine and good. I'll still continue to review their releases, but at least I know where I stand in this relationship right?"
I really hope this was a mistake and isn't the Ubuntu way of replying to emails.
