A couple days ago I ran some of the updates, and I think grub may have been among them - I don't usually check them all. Last night I restarted the computer, and all I get is a black screen with the blinking cursor after the bios. It doesn't respond to the keyboard, like holding shift to change the Grub boot.
I cannot boot from a CD either. It sounds like it's trying to, but when I tell it to boot from the CD, it just defaults to the black screen with the flashing cursor. I have burned two .iso downloads from different computers, and neither disc worked.
The computer is a Lenovo Y550
Do I have any other options to get it going? What's causing this?
