Ubuntu -> Windows or Windows -> Ubuntu

I'm running Gentoo right now, but I think I'll soon switch over to an Ubuntu-Windows dual-boot. My question is: Is it easier to start with Ubuntu, then install Windows, or vice-versa? I want to make sure Ubuntu isn't stuck on NTFS, though.

Also, bonus points if someone can recommend a good simple resource on getting a dual-boot going.

install windows first, then ubuntu...
