i just installed ubuntu 10.10 desktop and when the power go on
the pc start boot but ubuntu perform disk check can i stop disk check because i use this machine remotely by vnc

It should only do a disk check once then move on and not do it again until the next time it detects a problem with the disk.

I don't believe that you can skip it via a VNC connection as by that point VNC shouldn't be running.

Is it happening every time you boot or just once?
