Inventory Script Needed

Hello,
I'm looking for a inventory script that will work in FF and IE. I would like enter e.g. part number, description etc and display all the results for that part. i got ~ 1000 parts to enter manually. Can't use sql, it has to be simple file storage, as it's on DVDs on many PCs across the planet :/

There is not enough information for me to advise, here is a bunch of questions...

What exactly does your data set look like? How is it currently stored? Could you post a couple of entries as examples?

How do you want users to be able to access it? What kind of queries will they need? etc.

If it is a text file, perhaps converting it to html (which could then be opened and searched with any browser) would be the simplest solution.
