Upgrade to 10.10 Fails

I'm trying to upgrade to 10.10 from 10.04.
I get a commit error after downloading the packages and the upgrade stops.

any ideas?

have done the required changes in the update manager....??
You need to do the changes in the update manager so that it will show you the BUTTON to upgrade to the latest version..

I made the necessary changes in the update manager.
It did give me the Upgrade button.

Sorry about the scant details, I tried copy/paste the actual error message, but it didn't work for some reason, so I'll have to go thru the process
again to get the exact error message. about a 2 hour process.
