Well they say you can talk about anything here and because I have never seen a computer use this, its the best place for it :)

I am looking into buying the Archos 7 internet tablet with the 250GB hard drive but my question is...

will ubuntu netbook/desktop (32bit) run on the little 1Ghz ARM CPU and does this OS even support a touch screen? lol :KS

Thanks :P

I'd recommend a distro with an official ARM port though, like Debian.

From Googling around a bit, it looks like Archos locks down their tablets, so you'd need to hack it. Not a good solution.

Ubuntu touchscreen support is still very spotty but the devs are working hard to improve it (including multitouch)...

ARM support is another big push...
