I have an idea for a new distro - a remastered version of antiX Linux specializing in rescue/forensics functions.

Should I use Sourceforge, Launchpad, or a different host? What software tools are used in distro development. This would be my first time ever as an active developer.

I'd like to hear from those of you who have been active in developing Ubuntu or any other distro.

Linux from Scratch (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/) is a very good starting point in learning the process.
