It came back...
Searched for "gnome panel" and the solution presented itself
I messed up, I know...
But bear with me, I'm a newbie
I was rearranging the top panel and somehow managed to get the top panel to dissapear.
Now I only have an empty desktop and the bottom panel with desktop and garbage bin icons.
Probably there is a command to enter in the terminal to bring it back but can somebody tell me what it is.
Any other solutions are also more than welcome.
