The blinking cursor is normal (or a minor bug). There is a minor fix to just get the logo up sooner if you want.

Download and run this script:

Paste results.txt, then highlight entire file and click on # in edit panel(code tags) to make it easier to read.
Or You can generate the tags first by pressing the # icon in the post's menu and then paste the contents between the generated [ code][ /code] tags.

... noticed the Ubuntu install had changed my drives from /dev/sda*/ to /dev/sde*/ ...

Actually, it did this to me, too -- but it's harmless.

When I saw it, I thought for sure that Win7 would NOT boot anymore ... but selecting the "sde" line still worked the same as before -- when it was an "sda" line.
