Hello,

I am searching for an open source flash video recorder, which can record video from my webcam and then play them back. Do you know of any?

Cheese should be able to do so, but I can't get it to record videos, only still photos.

Wxcam can do both but the video quality and framerate is very low.

I need the recorders to be free and I also need the source codes, to be able to customize them.

In what way does Cheese http://projects.gnome.org/cheese/tour fail to meet your criteria? Cheese is Ubuntu's default Gnome application for this sort of thing.

Just for reference sake, can you get cheese to record video, or is it just me who has a problem?

Cheese hasn't recorded video properly for me since 9.10. I am also looking for a video recorder

Obviously not just me then. I am surprised there is not more about this in the forum, but I have not seen much, and there is no launchpad bug that I can find.
