Synaptic Tip Box always shows up even when told not to

I installed 10.04 last week. Whenever I run Synaptic I always get the tip box when the program starts. I check the box to decline the tips in the future, but it doesn't matter. The next time I run Synaptic the tip box shows up again.

This is not a major inconvenience, but it seems like it shouldn't work that way.

When you tick the box in the Tip window you are telling it to pop up again. Usually after the first time it comes up in an install it never shows again.
