Alright, so I'm just as stirred with the news of GNOME Shell getting screwed over by Unity. I thought it would be Unity for netbooks and the GNOME Shell for desktops and more powerful notebooks. Anyway, I'm interested to try them out.

I've used KDE in the past, and it was quite enjoyable. That was before I knew anything about Ubuntu. Now, I want to know if there's a way to get a taste of them all without clutter.

I would just use VirtualBox to virtualize a billion OSs, but it's annoying for me to use because my Intel CPU is not VT-x capable. Bummer.

So, Ubuntu community: Can I nibble on Unity, GNOME Shell, Kubuntu, and GNOME all at once without screwing any settings on any of them and do so conveniently?
