I've tried installing ubuntu like 4 different times

My laptop is a Toshiba satellite L505D.

Once I download the ubuntu set-up, then restart my computer and choose ubuntu as the OS I want to boot with, during the install it just hangs on some child_rip thing.

Not sure what to do, nor what to say right now. Just hoping someone can help fix this. I'd really like to run ubuntu.

I run Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks for any help I may receive.

It could be that there are a few corrupt files on the disk. If you didn't already you should burn the disk at a slow speed and choose to verify after burning. I'm not sure what else it could be personally with just that information. When you boot into the disk, choose "Try Ubuntu", this will boot Ubuntu right from the disk and if it runs successfully you can play around if you want but then choose to install from there. Are you choosing to let the installer install Ubuntu side by side with Windows?
