10.04 64bit cannot find files on disk during installation then it will display I/O error and abort installation.
I have burned 3 disks (2 DVD's & 1 CD). 2 different DVD drives and at the slowest speeds (4x & 8x). They all quit at the same place when looking for a samba file (this is always the first file it says it cannot locate). I can select retry then other files pop up as not being found.
I have downloaded from 2 sources, the md5sums match and the disk check from the boot menu passes. The disk will work as a live boot but encounter the described errors when installing.
I have not seen any posts regarding this issue. I have had to install 10.04 32 bit and it works just fine.
Any one had this issue?
Would using the alternate iso be the solution?
