Hello,
Well first I'd like to add that I am a windows user and I am trying to learn ubuntu/linux. So bare with me here. I have a Brother MFC-495CW Printer and I have no clue how to install it. I tried going to the printer app in Ubuntu but my model of printer wasnt listed. So, then I decided to goto the brother website and download the driver. Well, now when i tried to install it, it tells me i have the i386 driver. I am running x64, but I think thats the only driver that brother has listed for my PC. SO, What do I do here guys?

Could someone give me step by step instructions. (I am a total nub when it comes to linux)

Which model do you have?
I have the MCF5440CN and on my AMD64 box. Brother does provide decent instructions on getting the the 32bit drivers configured. It will work. Just follow the instructions exactly as they are on their page.
