I breathed new life into my really old laptop (a Tecra 8100) with Lubuntu. It ran great in 10.04, but once I upgraded to 10.10, Wine failed to run. If I just try to pull up the Wine Configuration window, or the Remove Windows Programs window, it starts to come up, then closes me out of X Windows. (In Windows, I'd say it logged me out--what happens is the screen goes blank, then I'm facing the Lubuntu login screen again.)

It does the same thing in both the stable (1.2) and beta (1.3) versions of Wine. If I wipe the drive and reinstall Lubuntu 10.04, Wine works normally.

Also, my main system--a newer desktop running Xubuntu 10.10--isn't experiencing the issue. Wine runs as well as it ever did on that machine.

Anyone have any ideas?
