I am working to create a home server.
my specs:
p4 3ghz
2gb ram
gig NIC
sata ii pci controller
120gb ide HDD windows xp currently installed
1TB sata drive
Do I need to install ubuntu on the ide drive and dual boot the main hdd xp/ubuntu and run ubuntu off usb stick or do I need to install ubuntu to the sata drive?
When installing a new OS do you have to reinstall all drivers for hardware etc...
I only have one backup drive and will upgrade to more drives over time. I dont plan on using raid I just want to use the NAS for backup and sending media aroud the network.
