Hello, ubuntuers! :P

When I apt-get netpbm, it's missing some programs (like pamscale) which have been part of netpbm since 2004. Is there an official way to get a more recent version of netpbm installed (like picking a special repository or something), or should I just compile my own local one?

Nobody's helped this poor guy yet with the exact same problem :( :

I am really not sure what the official way is, but since no one has stepped forward to reveal it in at least two years, there is a good chance it doesn't exist.
On the second thought, the official way to install anything in Debian/Ubuntu is apt-get install pkgname, but that's obviously not what you want. For some reason, netpmb packages are outdated in both Debian and Ubuntu, and the only way to get more uptodate packages would be to an unofficial one - third party repo or compiling.

I guess talking to the debian package maintainer is the way to go.
