October 29th, 2010, 06:56 AM
When ever i try to change Visual Effects in Appearance Preferences from None to Normal or Extra, i get this error "Desktop Effects could not be enabled".I think i had messed up with my Nvidia Drivers. Please help me to remove all my present drivers & reinstall to get clean configuration along with all my desktop effects.

Thank you in advance.

Did you run compiz? Maybe you should type in a terminal the command "compiz&".

aman@aman-laptop:~$ compiz&
[1] 2512
aman@aman-laptop:~$ Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
compiz (core) - Fatal: Root visual is not a GL visual
compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

Launching fallback window manager

This is the output of the compiz& cmd.
please guide further
