View Full Version : [all variants] Nvidia tri-monitor, possible?

At work I have 2 monitors in twinview running off a dual-head GeForce 9500 GT, using the latest Nvidia binary drivers. I would like to add a third (and potentially forth) monitor, by adding a second graphics card (nvidia again).

Does anyone know if this is likely to work well, or get rather messy and angry? I need to be able to move windows between each monitor, and have 3D acceleration working on all monitors.

I tried this at home with 2 ATI cards and the ATI binary drivers, but they enabled xinerama to get moving between windows - which broke 3D acceleration. Unfortunately I don't have a second Nvidia card lying around to just test this, and would rather not mess around too much with my work PC anyway.

PS. Sorry if any of this is a bit stupid - there are tones of articles on similar topics, but it's incredibly hard to tell what is still true and what is out-of-date.
