hi,
strange trouble here: i burned ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso with no problem, the installation start and i can choose the language (italian), select "Install" and.... it dies!!!

No viedo signal, keyboard has no more lights... nothing works but the pc is still power on.

My CPU is an AMD SEMPRON 2200+, 1gb ram, 250gb hdd with an nvidia graphic card.

If someone has an idea... :(

Thanks

First of all Check the disc for defects.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDBootOptions

If the CD is ok, probably a hardware fault.

1. Try nomodeset option from F6 menu at startup.
2. Check your RAM.
3. Check the HDD for any problems associated to it. Bad sectors / bad cables etc.
