Hey there people! I'm posting this because I've been running into a problem with upgrading my OS. I have a VPS running Ubuntu 9.04 and want to upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10.
Now, I'm able to do the ACTUAL upgrade, however every time I try to restart the VPS when it's finished, the VPS doesn't come back up. I've tried upgrading three times already, and each time the problem has occurred and I end up having to get the VPS reinstalled (which is a big pain). There are no major errors when doing the actual upgrade and everything seems to be going fine. It's only when I try restarting the VPS at the end that all the trouble comes in.
I did the usual upgrade with:
` apt-get install update-manager-core
` do-release-upgrade
I found this article "https://forum.ramhost.us/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=13" that might work, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet because my VPS is in the process of being reinstalled. So, does anybody know what the problem is or how to solve it?
