64bit: lockup since upgrade to 10.10 need to downgrade... Asap

So i upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10 on 2 seperate systems(hp laptop and acer 380)
On both systems, i have experienced the same lockup issues. Screen becomes black and there is no response what so ever. The laptop was a fresh install of 10.04lts and the acer had been running 10.04 lts for well over 3 months...

Now what are my options from here?

How can i revert back to 10.04?

I do NOT want to re-install!

You don't have a choice but reinstall 10.04 unless you used something like Clonezilla BEFORE you upgraded in order to be able to replace your old install of 10.04 with all of your configurations, programs and settings.

If you while installing prepare your system for reinstalling, especially by having a separate /home, a reinstall next time will only take a moment. That way you will not need to do online upgrades.
