View Full Version : [ubuntu] Major Installation Woes

Hi all, new to Ubuntu, but not Linux in general. I have been attempting to install ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron Laptop with no success. Each time I get the install complete, I restart to find that Grub is having a bad hair day. The only error i get is "Error: out of drive"
Then a prompt "Grub Rescue"
The partitions on my disk are such that windows occupies the first 125Gb, and there is a 125Gb free space to install Ubuntu on. I install it there, but I have come up against this issue 3 times in a row now, and I am assuming that I am doing something wrong in the setup of the drive partitions and boot loader.

I know others have run into this issue, but none of the other posted solutions seem to work.

Is there something I am missing?

Best personal regards,

G
