View Full Version : [ubuntu] Unlock Stuck at Checking...

This is a strange one. I can no longer unlock my screen after either the screensaver kicks in and locks the screen or if I hit Ctrl-Alt L. When I go to unlock the screen, I enter my password and then it gets stuck at Checking.... The only way, that I know of, to recover is to force the machine to shut down and reboot.

I have two user accounts on my machine, one is an administrator (in the sudo group), the other is my primary account (not in the sudo group). The primary account has an encrypted filesystem, but that gets mounted at login time. This only happens with my primary account. I can lock and unlock the administrator's account. So there must be a difference between the accounts.

This only started happening recently (over the weekend). I'm able to login, just not unlock. I may have installed some new software over the weekend. But I'm not sure why that would cause this.

I'm running 10.04 Desktop x64.

What should I be looking at to figure this out?

Chris.
