Installing 10.10 server on a fairly old machine.
An AMPRO Littleboard 700 (Pentium M 933Mhz, embedded design).
I already had a WinXP system working perfectly.
I installed Ubuntu in the unpartitioned space on the only harddrive connected.
Installation went ahead and rebooted.
Now the only thing the system shows is a grub command prompt i'm totally unfamiliar with:

GNU GRUB version 1.98+20100804-5ubuntu3

typing ls shows

(hd0) (hd0,msdos5) (hd0,msdos1)

I used the procedure depicted here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1594052) and after hitting "boot" lots of error messages showed up. Finally it dropped me to a initramfs prompt.
What's happening?
