I did the upgrade to 10.10 on accident so i decided to reinstall. In the process of install the first time i did make seperate partitons for my /home as well as a few other inportant folders.

Well i started to reinstall at 1 am and went through the steps to install the root and supporting other parts. aka /boot /swap /root

I made the error of identifing my /home but did not check the box to format the drive. same with /swap and /boot

i ran the system over night to pull down updates, then the next day i checked out the system. one error was i specified ext3 instead of ext4 mistake one
mistake two is lacking all my info from the /home drive

it was not formatted can i get the info back?

any thoughts? google pointed me to make a seperate drive and pull the info off. I made a img file of the /home drive to a seperate drive. so i have a back up. dont know if it has all the data or just the new info.
