View Full Version : [ubuntu] Do-release-upgrade wants to remove a package that shouldn't be removed

I have ubuntu jaunty server running. It has one manually installed custom deb package that is not in any repositories. Now I was planning to upgrade to karmic, but do-release-upgrade says it wants to remove this custom deb package.

Why? As far as I can see, all dependencies are met even after upgrade. This didn't happen the last time I did do-release-upgrade to jaunty.

It wouldn't be such a problem, but I personally know zilch about workings of this application and package. The person who maintains it is generally very busy, so I'd rather just not let it get removed in the first place.
