Giving AWN a go

Can someone tell me how to add applications to the AWN dock? I can't seem to get the drag and drop method to work...

When you open an application and the icon appears on the dock , right click and add as launcher. Right click on the bottom of the dock and select dock preferences and you will find settings , themes and applets. You can also right click icons to customize them with at set you have found on the net.
