backing up the perfect system

have you ever set up the perfect ubuntu , all the softwares,games,libs,customizations...
and wanted to back it up so if anything happens in the future you could just go back to "perfect one" ?

I always create a copy on CD/DVD using Rematersys (guide from here). It's installable or runs as live CD/DVD
